Is diet soda really diet?
So what exactly makes a diet soda diet? Is it that the label says 0 grams or that it has 0 carbs of sugar? Well while Atkins will say 0 carbs=better, it didn't say what exactly you were getting in replacement, which makes you wonder, "What am I drinking?" Sodas that are diet generally have a high volume of Phenylalanine. This is better known as Aspartame. Phenylalanine can be a dangerous amino acid that accounts for about 50% of Aspartame. According to research found, too much consumption of this acid can trigger ADD/ADHD along with other emotional or behavioral disorders.
Think that's bad? Here's the worst thing. In order for cancer to live, Phenylalanine has to be present. Who knew that drinking diet soda could be a gateway to having cancer? This simply proves that just because a soda reads "diet" it doesn't mean you'll actually benefit from it. Go the natural route, drink water. If water isn't your thing, try a sugar alternative like Splenda. Whatever you do, read labels and know what you're drinking. You don't want your diet soda to be the end of you!!
